About Safeplaces

The Safeplaces network

Safeplaces is a network of information exchange that advances knowledge on situational crime prevention, improves the understanding of people’s safety needs and helps achieve the sustainable development goals.

We focus on the main pressing safety challenges from an interdisciplinary perspective by integrating theories and methods of environmental criminology with those of urban planning, architecture, and engineering sciences. The network is based at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.

We enable and strengthen the relationships between researchers and practitioners whose task is to make society safer, inclusive, and more sustainable.
